Who is not a good candidate for dermal fillers?
What to expect when getting dermal fillers?
During the consultation with Nurse Irena the treatment areas will be decided and an anesthetic lotion will be applied. The anesthetic numbs the area so the treatment will be more comfortable. Using a thin needle, Nurse Irena injects small amounts of fillers under your skin. The needle will pinch or sting, but most people don’t experience much pain during these injections. The whole process can take an hour or up to two hours.
When will I notice results after dermal filler treatments?
You cannot be breast-feeding or pregnant or under the age of 18 when receiving dermal filler treatment. Those with a history of anaphylaxis, multiple severe allergies or a history of allergy to gram-positive bacterial proteins should not have the injections. Clients who take aspirin, clopidogrel, dipyridamole, warfarin and non-steroidal analgesics such as ibuprofen are at increased risk of bruising. Those taking immunosuppressive therapy are at greater risk of infection from any injection and should be considered with caution. You should ensure you inform Nurse Irena of your full medical history.
One of the greatest features of the dermal fillers is that you will see the benefits immediately. The results will improve over six to eight weeks.
Do you offer filler dissolving?
We do offer filler dissolving at Dea Beauty Clinic. Nurse Irena might recommend filler dissolving before she can treat your desired area. Hyaluronic acid-based (HA) fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase, or Hyalase. The solution works by breaking up the bonds that hold the HA molecules together and encourages the body to reabsorb them.

What is the after-care for dermal filler treatments?
You must inform any medical practitioner who may prescribe you medication that you have had the injection treatment for up to 3 months after the treatment. After treatment, you should not exercise vigorously or have a hot bath for 12 hours. It is best to leave the area to settle for 1-2 days before considering any gentle massage to smooth any small collections of the filler into the tissues – this proposed delay is to theoretically minimise any risk of infection via the needle-track and also to prevent worsening the swelling.
