3–5 days before: please stop using or consuming the following, where your physician permits:
Prescription Medications: If you’re on prescription aspirin or blood thinners, please continue taking them unless your physician advises otherwise.
If you have a history of cold sores, please consult with your physician beforehand to get specific advice tailored to your situation. Your doctor can provide guidance on any preventive measures or medications that may help reduce the risk of an outbreak.
Please refrain from undergoing any dental procedures for at least 2 weeks before your treatment. Dental work can sometimes cause inflammation or sensitivity in the mouth area, which might affect the treatment area or overall healing process.
The results of a dermal filler treatment are visible right away, and typically last between 6 and 18 months. To support the best results and a smooth recovery, please follow these aftercare instructions:
Due to the anaesthetic in the filler gel, you may feel a numbness or tingling sensation immediately after the treatment, and have some moderate swelling, redness, bruising, and tenderness over the areas treated. Some people may experience a dull ache and tenderness over the treatment areas, which typically eases between 48 and 72 hours. Mild, non-painful swelling can last for up to 2 weeks. Bruising is usually visible initially, more obvious the next day, then fades 7 to 14 days following the treatment. In uncommon cases, bruises may last 4–6 weeks.
Reduce your risk of infection and adverse reaction by not touching the area for a minimum of 6 hours after treatment. Do not apply make-up over injection points until the day after the procedure.
Contact us immediately by text at 416-939-9357 and email info@deabeautyclinic.com if you experience severe pain, redness, warmth, or swelling in the treated area, as these could be signs of infection or other complications.
If you develop increasing pain near or above the injection site that is getting worse over time, especially if associated with a pale area of skin indicating a lack of blood flow, contact us straight away. In rare cases, an urgent reversal or other medical intervention may be required immediately to help prevent scarring. If we are unreachable, go to your local emergency department immediately, and contact us as soon as possible so we can advise other clinicians.
